The Fifth Annual "Share the Dream" Golf Classic of Variety Pre-Schooler's Workshop (VPSW) in Syosset, held earlier this year at Old Westbury Country Club, was the most successful yet. Hundreds of golfers from throughout Long Island turned out for a day of fun, festivity and great golf. The event was chaired by Larry Scheinthal of Marcum & Kliegman, LLP in Woodbury. He is also a VPSW Board member. Marcum & Kliegman, LLP has generously sponsored the event every year since its inception.

"What an incredible show of support for children!" said Judith S. Bloch, VPSW president/CEO. "We deeply appreciate everything that was done to make this event such an outstanding success. The money raised is earmarked for vital programs for young children with learning, language and behavioral disabilities¬including autism¬ here on Long Island. Larry Scheinthal and Marcum & Kliegman and the golf committee, truly went all out for these kids¬and so did our generous golfers and sponsors."

Founded in 1966, VPSW was one of the first schools in the northeast to focus on young children with learning, language and behavioral problems and their families, and has remained a pioneer in the development of programs. The nonprofit agency, with a staff of more than 250, serves thousands of families through direct services and reaches countless more through research and professional training. VPSW, named the 523rd "Daily Point of Light" by the White House, operates the only preschool for young children with disabilities on Long Island honored by the New York State Education Department as a "Sharing Success" validated program, which means that its methods and curricula are recommended for use by other educators involved with preschoolers.
