The sixth Annual Golf Outing for the Rehabilitation Institute (TRI) of Garden City and Carle Place was held Aug. 9 at Cold Spring Country Club in Huntington. It was one of their major fund-raising events, which directly benefited TRI's programs and services to Long Island's emotionally and learning disabled population.

Co-hairs Eileen and John McLaughlin and Barbara Lehrer, assisted by their committee members, brought in 111 golfers.

There was a tie for first place with a score of 59. The winners included Rob Schoenhaut, Jamie Shapiro, Jay D'Anna, Dan Caniano, Rob Schrafel, Carl Jordan and John Kuykendall.

TRI's mission is to provide job training, supportive counseling, job placement and sheltered employment for emotionally handicapped and learning disabled individuals, which enables them to lead independent, meaningful lives within the community. For information about TRI, call 222-2092.
