On Tuesday, August 3 at the Lightpath Long Island Classic, Senior PGA Tour veterans Jim Albus and Walter Morgan won the Gillette Tour Challenge, a unique tournament featuring five two-man teams competing for six holes in an alternate-shot format.
Albus, a local guy originally from Staten Island, and Morgan, who joined the Senior Tour in 1991, collectively birdied the first, third and sixth holes, winning by a two-strike margin over second-place teams Jose Maria Canizares/Hugh Baiocchi and Gary Player/Walter Hall.
Albus and Morgan, who finished at 3-under, shared a $9,000 first prize. The results in full:
