Michael Levine, of Westbury and Lake Worth, FL, died recently. Husband of Florence. Father of Jackie Levine and Fern Mann. Father-in-law of Leonard Mann. Grandfather of Rachel and Gillian. She grew up in Westbury and attended Westbury High School. She earned her bachelor's and master's degree in special education from Hofstra University. She later earned a special diploma in school district administration. She taught mentally disabled children ages 5 to 8 activities of daily living and showed their parents how to accept them. She worked with 1st and 2nd graders at the East Broadway School and the Abbey Lane Public School in Levittown. She was a member of the North County Association for Health of Retarded Children and was a volunteer at the Guthrie Foundation in Great Barrington, MA, where she drove disabled people to medical appointments. She is survived by her brother, Peter Edwards. Rose DeStefano, of Westbury, died on July 31, 1999. Wife of the late Anthony. Mother of Paulette Peck. Mother-in-law of Robert Peck. Sister of Anne Sirico, Viola Civitano, Joseph and Al Gioia. Grandmother of Andrea Jandoli and Craig Bellise. Great-grandmother of Dominic.
