We receive many emails from around the country from graduates of local high schools looking to get information on reunions. While we think it is great that so many people wish to reunite with friends and teachers from their school days, we don't always have the answers.

Well, it turns out that the Carle Place High School 1979 graduates are particularly lucky. There are a couple ways of finding out information about the class's upcoming reunion. One is to call the Reunion Hotline at (516) 616-3449, or via email at info@cphs79.com or via Internet at http://www.cphs79.com. The Carle Place HS 1979 20 year class reunion will be held on Saturday, Aug. 21 at Jericho Terrace in Mineola.

There is also a tentative Class of 1957 reunion scheduled for the last week in August. For more information on this call Eric Stevenson at (516) 669-4205, or Gail Kasparian (D'Onofrio) at (516) 669-4205.

For other CPHS graduates or graduates of the Westbury School District, finding out about a reunion when you are living out of town may not be so easy. Carle Place graduates can call the district at 334-1900. And Westbury graduates can try a similar route but there is no guarantee that the district will have any information. Since neither district is responsible for the reunions organized, district employees do not always know when or if any reunions are coming up.

Our best suggestion is for those who are organizing their class reunions, make sure to contact your school district and The Westbury Times so we can help get the word out. You can try checking The Westbury Times calendar, but for those of you, especially out-of-towners, who need more prep time than a week, try calling us to see if we've heard anything. (This way you'll probably get a quicker response time than by email.)
