It is that time of year again. For two days people from Westbury and beyond will come to enjoy the festivities at the Westbury Chamber of Commerce Annual Street Fair on June 12 and June 13.
Although, it is only in its fifth year of existence, the fair has already become a favorite of many Long Islanders who enjoy the music, international cuisine, antique vendors and more. The fair, which will take place this year on Post. Ave from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. both days, has something for everyone.
Children are delighted by the pony rides, petting zoo, clowns, face painting and visits from beloved television characters. Ronald McDonald will make an appearance at the fair on Saturday and Zebby's Zoo, the popular T.V. clown and his troupe of animal characters will also join the fair this year.
Adults may enjoy browsing the vendors' goods and sampling the assortment of foods. While the games and the classic car display will probably appeal to people of all ages.
Raffle tickets will be sold at the Chamber's booth at 167 Post Ave. Raffle prizes include a day of beauty and relaxation at a local salon and dinner at several Long Island restaurants including Galleria, Piping Rock and Stockyards.
Providing music from the 1950's to the present, the New York Connection will also be performing from 12-4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The band will appear in front of Century 21 Laffey Associates at 241 Post Ave.
