Kuras Helps to Restore Cradle of Aviation
Work remains on schedule for the reopening of the Cradle of Aviation Museum at Mitchel Field in Garden City, thanks to the efforts of Victor Kuras of Hempstead, an Army veteran who is using his skill and years of machine shop experience to restore vintage historic aircraft for public display.

Fortunoff's Donates to Aviation Museum
The Friends for Long Island's Heritage have announced that Fortunoff's of Westbury is contributing $100,000 to allow the Cradle of Aviation Museum at Mitchel Field to acquire a rare and historically significant Bleriot monoplane. The Bleriot flew the nation's first air mail flight, a six mile aerial odyssey from Garden City to Mineola in 1911, with Earle Ovington at the controls.

Sparring Tournament at Hwang Karate Studio
It was an exciting day at Master Charles Water's Hwang Karate Studio, located at 122 Hillside Avenue in Williston Park. There was a sparring tournament. Sparring (martial arts confrontation skills used for self defense), is a great way for students to put into action their technical skills while exercising their discipline.
