Karen Schoch was honored, recently, at her final field hockey game at Lafayette College. Karen is the lone senior on this year's varsity squad. Always an accomplished scholar, Schoch has a 3.58 GPA while majoring in mechanical engineering. She was inducted into the National Engineering Honor Society with a 3.96 in her major.
Schoch's hard work and dedication throughout her college career have paid dividends for both the Leopards field hockey and lacrosse teams.
This year Schoch was a starter on the varsity field hockey team in the defensive back position. In the spring season, Schoch will showcase her talents on the lacrosse field, where in the past three seasons she racked up nine goals and 10 assists for a total of 19 points as a midfielder.
A native of Carle Place, Schoch was an outstanding scholar-athlete at Carle Place High School, where she was named all-county in gymnastics, field hockey, and lacrosse, earning an unprecedented 13 varsity letters.
She was a member of the National Honor Society as well as the French and math honor societies.
While at Lafayette, the defender was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and has consistently earned a spot on the school's dean's list.
