  • SPORTS: Islanders' Take Pee Wee Hockey

    The Team Islanders Pee Wee Major Team won the USA Hockey Tier II National Championships which were held from April 1-5, at the Glacial Garden Arena in Lakewood, CA. After capturing the New York State 12 and Under title, Team Islanders qualified to represent the New York region in the Nationals. They won 3 of their 4 playoff games and went into overtime and double overtime in 3 of the games. On Sunday, April 5, they advanced to the semi-finals where they defeated the Michigan Jaguars 5 to 3. Later that afternoon in the finals, they faced off against the West Valley Wolves from Simi Valley, CA. With two minutes left in the third period, Team Islanders broke a 1 to 1 tie and won the Pee Wee Championship title. FULL STORY
