Carle Place Students Make All County

Ann-Marie Ginsberg, supervisor of Fine and Performing Arts, received notice from the Nassau Music Educators Association announcing that 22 Carle Place students were selected to perform in the All-County Music Festival which is to be held at Tilles Center C.W. Post College from Friday, Jan. 9, through Sunday, Jan. 11. Students are selected based on a variety of factors, including the results from the spring NYSSMA Solo Festival, by an NMEA committee.

Of the 56 school districts that auditioned the best of the orchestra, chorus and band were selected.

Congratulations! The following students from Carle Place have been selected:

Division I: Rushmore Elementary School (fifth and sixth grade) - Orchestra: Kristina Huang and Joyoon Sung. Band: Melissa Buck. Chorus: Sara Mamming, Michelle Cecere, Erin Kelly, Casey Hackett and Erin Holowecki.

Division II: Middle School - Orchestra: Megan Roach (cello). Band: Kathleen Ehrling (flute). Chorus: Shannon Schmitt, Marissa Fernandex and Katie Fernandez.

Division III: High School - Orchestra: Matthew Roach (string bass). Band: Maddelina Buffalino (flute). Chorus: Ryan Shanahon (tenor), Ann Marie Rosano (alto) and John Grillo (tenor).

Division IV: High School - Orchestra: Lisa Gwasda (violin). Band: Leilani Inoshima (flute). Chorus: Pat Daly (bass) and Joe Veneroni (tenor).
