Corbin Honors Bunky Reid's Memory

Residents and elected officials attended a recent ceremony renaming New Cassel Park in honor of the late Martin "Bunky" Reid. Mr. Reid was a charismatic Westbury High School teacher and basketball coach who served as mentor to many young people. The park is located on Broadway between Urban Street and Garden Street in New Cassel. Attending the ceremony that day were, from l to r: Ed Krinsky (Mr. Reid's former coach), New York State Comptroller H. Carl McCall, Julia Reid (Mr. Reid's mother) and Nassau County Legislator Roger Corbin (D-Westbury).
