The Greek Olympics at Covert Avenue School were nothing short of exciting when I was a sixth-grader. The games were various athletic challenges while re-enacting the culture of Ancient Greece through costumes, speeches and artwork. I was a member of “Team Corinth.”
This day, along with taking a field trip to Medieval Times in New Jersey, was one of the highlights of my final year in the Elmont School District. The relay races, obstacle courses and overall togetherness we students had, preparing and carrying out the games, is something to be remembered.
