Ranked first in a most competitive class, Justin Poserio is well known for his extraordinary intelligence and easy-going demeanor. As an AP Scholar and Carey High School (CHS) 2012 Valedictorian, his academic achievements have been recognized by induction into the National, Science, English, Foreign Language, Math, and Music Honor Societies.
He is involved in myriad activities, which include Mathletes, Global Awareness, Peer Mediators, Poseidon, Chess Club and Asian Association. He is the recipient of the prestigious Rensselaer Medal and a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist. He is an active participant in the varsity volleyball team, the Van Manen Quartet, the annual Walk for Autism, and a volunteer at Winthrop University Hospital.
Carey’s Salutatorian, Thomas Segarra, is well known for his intelligence, quiet yet friendly disposition, and genuine humility. This young man is truly exceptional in every subject area and fully earned his membership into the National, Science, Foreign Language and Math Honor Societies.
His academic prowess has been mirrored by his accomplishment on the PSAT, warranting his recognition as a Commended Scholar. This senior is readily available to tutor his peers and has a particular passion for mathematics.
More recently, he can be found balancing his scholastic responsibilities with his role as co-president of National Honor Society, treasurer of Student Government, and in his role as student representative of the Student Government on the class board.
