Rosary Altar Society Communion Luncheon

The Rosary Altar Society of Our Lady of Victory Church will be hosting an annual Communion luncheon after the 11:45 a.m. Mass at Fiore’s Resturant on Tulip Ave., in Floral Park. Speaker will be Mrs. Patti McDonald, the Mayor of Malverne, to give insights on her life and her walk of faith. The cost of the luncheon is $35 with a choice of three entrees. North Shore Land Alliance Fall Walk

Join North Shore Land Alliance and Naturalist Peter Martin for an early fall stroll at Norman J. Levy Park & Preserve in Merrick at 2 p.m. Experience the wonder of early autumn foliage and fall migrating birds with Peter at this magnificent 52-acre former landfill. Bring the kids. Free Rabies Vaccine for Pets

The Last Hope Animal Rescue will be hosting a free rabies vaccine clinic for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Last Hope Adoption Center, 3300 Beltagh Ave., Wantagh. All Long Island pet owners are eligible; no appointment necessary. All pets must be at least 4 months old. Dogs must be leashed and cats need to be in carriers. In addition, Last Hope is offering canine and feline distemper combination shots at the discounted price of $12 per vaccine. Community Fair and Auction

The Cross Island YMCA is hosting a community fair, auction and carnival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is free and all are welcome. For auction items, the online auction begins Friday, Sept. 28 on www.bid­ding­forgood.com/crossislandymca. There will be a carnival for children. In addition, this is a great event to bring your pets. For $20, Cornell’s Southside Healthy Pet Clinic will be onsite to provide a complete physical exam of your pet, including vaccinations, and a full year of flea, tick, heartworm, and internal parasite protection. NAMI Queens/Nassau Meeting

NAMI Queens/Nassau meets with guest speaker Sheila Rettaliata, Recovery Coach of NYH/OASAS at 7:30 p.m. in the Sloman Auditorium of Zucker Hillside Hospital, 266th Street and 76th Avenue, Glen Oaks. A support group meets at 6 p.m. Ms. Rettaliata will discuss NAR-ANON-how groups function, what they learn, and provide personal stories of caregivers coping successfully with the challenge of a loved one’s addiction. St. Elisabeth’s Episcopal Church, 6 Harvard St., Floral Park will be having a craft fair and flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hand-made items, crafts, white elephants, books, jewelry, household items, new items, etc. Vendors from Mary Kay and Avon will also be present. Refreshments will be served. CVS Pharmacy will be offering flu shots.
