Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and the town board recognized 13 community members for contributions to their local neighborhoods at the 11th Annual "Make A Difference" Awards ceremony on Nov. 13. Local residents will be cooking their favorite dish in an effort to raise money to fight a proposed cell phone tower that would be located in a residential neighborhood at 340 Dogwood Avenue in Franklin Square. The fundraiser will be held on Friday, Nov. 30 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 24 Westminster Road in West Hempstead between 7-11 p.m. FULL STORY
