Police from the Fifth Squad are investigating the robbery of a thrift store, located on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead after the store manager was held at gunpoint on Sunday, April 29 at 10:20 a.m.

According to detectives, two male subjects, one armed with a handgun, entered the Savers Thrift Store and placed a weapon against the store manager's head and demanded money.

Police said that after directing the manager to open the safe, the subjects removed an undetermined amount of cash and fled in a black sedan southbound on Morton Avenue.

One subject is described as a black male, 25 years old, 5'10", 170 lbs., wearing a white sweatshirt and dark baseball cap while the other subject is described as a 25-year-old black male, 5'9", 180 lbs. wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt.
