The West Hempstead Civic Association has been urging Town of Hempstead officials to get moving on closing the Courtesy Hotel, which is thought by many to be a blight on the community. But the town says that they are doing what they can to close the hotel. FULL STORY

The Floral Park-Bellerose Board of Education accepted the resignation of longtime trustee Archie T. Cheng at a special meeting conducted on March 28. Cheng has served with distinction on the Floral Park-Bellerose School District Board since 1989. Cheng also represented district residents on the Sewanhaka Central High School District Board of Education since 1991and served as president of both the Floral Park-Bellerose and Sewanhaka boards.
