Police arrested six suspects in connection with two separate, robberies, one of which occurred in Elmont and the other in Franklin Square.
According to police, at 8:50 p.m. on April 13, three males were walking on McClure Avenue in Elmont when they were approached by a group of male subjects who allegedly robbed them of an unknown amount of currency by means of physical force. Police said all three victims were punched in the face.
Officers from the Bureau of Special Operations arrested and charged Carl McIntosh, 18, of Cambria Heights, Dewayne McKenzie, 19, of Elmont and Peter J. Russell Jr., 18, of Elmont with second degree robbery.
Then, police report, at 9:25 p.m., three males were in the vicinity of Franklin Avenue when they were approached by three youths who allegedly robbed the males of cell phones and a small amount of cash by physical force. The youths fled but were later arrested. Police said an investigation revealed the three were also involved in the earlier alleged robbery in Elmont.
According to police, two of the youths were 16-years-old and from Elmont and the other was a juvenile. The 16-year-old subjects were charged with robbery second degree and the juvenile will have his case adjudicated in Family Court.
