Police said a 17-year-old West Hempstead student found an anti-Semitic symbol etched his school locker.
The student found the symbol on his West Hempstead High School locker, which police say was done between Thursday, March 16 at 1:40 p.m. and Friday, March 17 at 8:40 a.m.
Detectives ask anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
Police arrested three they said acted together to rob a 93-year-old woman of her pocketbook on Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead and then use the woman's charge card and information for a room at the Capri Motor Inn on Hempstead Turnpike and to purchase sneakers and hats in the Roosevelt Field shopping mall.
Police said the woman notified police when her credit card company reported unusual activity.
Police arrested three in connection with the alleged incident in the vicinity of the hotel, police said.
Patrick Sohan, 18, of Lakeview and a 15-year-old male from West Hempstead were charged with two counts of second degree robbery. Police are also alleging that Sohan and the 15-year-old male also forcefully took another woman's pocketbook as she waited for a bus on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead. Police are also charging Sohan with three counts of second degree forgery and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also charged Sharita Cannon, 20, of Hempstead with two counts of second degree robbery, three counts of second degree forgery and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Police are reporting that on March 14 at 7:10 p.m., a 15-year-old male was walking home through Averill Boulevard Park, when a group of 10-15 black males approached him and punched and kicked him.
Police said the males stole his book bag and fled on foot toward Sewanhaka High School. The victim received minor cuts and bruises but refused medical treatment.
