WH Civic Cheers Action to Close Courtesy
The Sept. 6 Town of Hempstead Board meeting was packed beyond capacity with West Hempstead community leaders and residents all supporting the town resolution to condemn the Courtesy Hotel. West Hempstead Civic Association president Rosalie Norton in addressing the Town of Hempstead Board said, "From every corner of West Hempstead we have heard nothing but complaints about the Courtesy Hotel." She went on to say "in addition to all the residents attending the meeting tonight there are representatives from more than 20 community organizations."

Franklin Square Library to Levinson: You're Canceled
Chairman of the Nassau County Board of Assessors Harvey Levinson was scheduled to speak at the Franklin Square Library on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m., but was canceled because the Franklin Square Library Board of Trustees felt the engagement was inappropriate because Levinson is a candidate for Hempstead Town Supervisor this November.

Alfano Delivers FS Warriors Football $4,000
The Franklin Square Warriors had their season opening, at which over 500 parents filled Rath Park in Franklin Square to cheer on the teams as they kicked off their season at the 50-yard line. The ceremony opened with the Warrior Cheerleaders running on the field and performing routines to the crowd of onlookers as players stood by for their introductions.
