On Saturday, Sept. 10, residents of Elmont will gather to celebrate Elmont Diversity Day at the Dutch Broadway Park at Dutch Broadway and Ridge Road. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the multi-ethnic community will participate in games, entertainment, field sports, health screenings and refreshments sponsored by the Elmont Community Awareness Program (ECAP). Literacy Programs, SAT Prep and 'Write Correctly' Workshops Established -- Assemblyman Tom Alfano visited the Elmont Public Library to deliver a $10,000 grant check to library trustees that is being utilized for several programs and services to the community at large.
