Democratic candidate for Town of Hempstead Supervisor Harvey Levinson believes that illegal housing has reached the critical level in the Town of Hempstead. Four Elmont schools, Alden Terrace, Clara H. Carlson, Dutch Broadway and Gotham Avenue, were recently designated by the New York State Education Department as High Performing/Gap Closing Schools. In letters to the principals, Education Commissioner Richard P.
