Norman Shohet, 79, of Fairfield, died on June 21, 2005 at The Jewish Home for the Elderly. He was born Feb. 28, 1926 in Jersey City, NJ, son of the late Leon and Rose (Epstein) Shohet and was a veteran of WWII having served in the Philippines and the Pacific. He worked as an insurance agent and an investment advisor and was the proprietor of Republic Pension Services of Melville. Mr. Shohet was past Chancellor/Commander of the Jewish War Veterans of Port Jefferson and past officer of the North Shore Jewish Center of LI. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Newtown,; Michael Shohet (Carol) of Pennsylvania; his granddaughter Melissa Shohet; and his sister Miriam Falk of Roslyn. Services took place at the Abraham L. Green & Son Funeral Home. Interment Beth Moses Cemetery, Farmingdale. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish War Veterans of LI or to the North Shore Jewish Center of Port Jefferson, NY.
