    Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Councilman Edward Ambrosino announced that New York Senator Michael Balboni has been working to secure state grant money to fund a town road improvement project in Elmont.   • News: Commuters Oppose MTA Fare Hikes, Service Cuts

    At a public hearing held by the MTA on Tuesday, Nov. 9 in Melville, commuters opposed fare hikes and service cuts being proposed by the MTA in order to close a budget gap. Speakers who spoke out against such cuts included Assemblywoman Maureen O'Connell, East Williston Mayor Nancy Zolezzi and commuters who have been using the LIRR. FULL STORY Logo
