  • News: Hempstead Town Builds Senior Housing in Elmont

    The Town of Hempstead is having constructed a senior housing complex, which is slated for completion in summer of 2005. The complex will be comprised of 30 two-bedroom apartments and a community room. The units will feature wall-to-wall carpeting, closed circuit TV, keyless entry and full appliances in the kitchens. All units will be fully air-conditioned.   • News: Bassias and Alfano in Race for 21st Assembly District Seat

    George Bassias of West Hempstead, who unsuccessfully ran for Hempstead Town councilman last year, is taking another stab at politics, this time challenging Tom Alfano, current assemblyman for the 21st District. A West Hempstead resident since 1992, Bassias boasts he's not a career politician and will head to Albany for the purpose of reform. FULL STORY Logo
