Just when you thought former superintendent of schools for the Sewanhaka Central High School District Dr. George Goldstein had retired from education, the popular administrator has re-emerged.

Dr. Goldstein, who spent the last 19 years as superintendent of the Sewanhaka Central High School District, is currently serving as the interim principal of Island Trees High School in Levittown.

Dr. Goldstein, who had planned to retire for a few years, finally did so on June 30. However, his retirement didn't last too long. At a special meeting of the Island Trees Board of Education on August 16, the board approved Dr. Goldstein as interim principal for the high school. He assumed this position on August 23.

According to the Levittown Tribune, an Anton Community Newspapers publication, the Island Trees Board of Education is confident that he will provide the leadership to ensure their students continue to receive a high quality education in a safe school environment.
