The 21 Valley Stream North High School students being accused of vandalizing the school last month are due in court for a conference on July 1. Valley Stream Central High School District has also begun an investigation on June 2, the same day the students went back to school. FULL STORY

Assemblyman Tom Alfano hosted a special "thank-you ceremony" for Specialist Abraham Morales of the US Army who has returned from Iraq after a one-year tour of duty with the 719th Transportation Division. Surrounded by family, friends and students of his alma mater: Dutch Broadway Elementary and Elmont Memorial High School, Alfano not only honored Morales for his service to a grateful nation but presented him with the Third Annual Hispanic American Community Service Award of the 21st Assembly District.
