  • News: A Community Alliance Grows

    The Tri-Community Alliance was formed when some 15 civic and community organizations in Elmont, Franklin Square and West Hempstead joined forces to work together to improve the quality of life in those communities. Now, other communities have followed suit and the Tri-Community Alliance is known as the Community Alliance, bringing in organizations from such communities as the Village of Valley Stream, North Valley Stream, East Meadow and Merrick as well as interest from groups in Wantagh, Bellmore and Uniondale.   • News: Franklin Square and Munson FD Honors Longtime Members

    The Franklin Square and Munson Fire Department honored longtime member and ex-Chief Michael Zerucha with a celebration on Saturday, March 27 at the firehouse. The department will be commemorating 72 years of service by ex-Chief Zerucha, who was sworn into the ranks of the Franklin Hook & Ladder Company Incorporated on Nov. 7, 1932. FULL STORY

    The Ron Lane Memorial Relay Meet was held at H. Frank Carey High School. The meet, which brings 40 teams from around Long Island to compete, is held each year in memory of the late coach. FULL STORY
