By Richard V. Guardino, Jr., Supervisor, Town of Hempstead
Our senior citizens in the Town of Hempstead are a very active group. Many of them participate in the variety of functions at their local senior centers such as the fall bazaars that take place in autumn.
The Senior Center Fall Bazaars feature an assortment of items including hand-knit and sewn products, crafts, baked goods, prizes, gift items and refreshments. Most of the items for sale are made or obtained by the seniors at the centers. These men and women continually demonstrate their many talents at this annual function. The bazaars are open to the public and are a wonderful opportunity to support the local senior center and pick up some great gifts for the upcoming holiday season.
