Proposed Amendment to Megan's Law Waits in Assembly
A proposed bill that would close two loopholes in New York State's Megan's Law has been in the Senate and is now in the Assembly. If it fails to pass by March 11, various agencies and programs stand to lose $3 million in federal funding through the Byrne Grant.

West Hempstead Rams Honored for Feats, on and off Field
On Thursday, Jan. 31, at the New Hyde Park Inn, The West Hempstead Rams Football Parents Club honored the varsity and junior varsity players of the 2001 season with an awards dinner. With friends, family, and the varsity and varsity cheerleaders on hand, club president and ex-Ram Bob Ainbinder thanked all the players for their hard work and effort, then turned the evening over to the coaches for awards presentations.
