The Nassau Police Department's Narcotics Bureau reports eight arrests for Criminal Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree (C Felony) made on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 9:55 p.m. in West Hempstead.

According to detectives, the Narcotics Bureau in conjunction with the Long Island DEA task force, executed a search warrant on a warehouse, located on Hempstead Garden Drive.

At the site, over 10 pounds of marijuana including more than 100 growing and harvested plants, along with assorted lights, heaters and paraphernalia used to convert the building into a hydroponic marijuana growing factory. According to police, the street value of the recovered marijuana is estimated to be in excess of $500,000.

The eight arrested range in age from 22 to 36-years-old. Among those arrested was a Franklin Square man and two West Hempstead men.
