On Friday, Dec. 14, the Fifth Precinct Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP) responded to information gathered from officers on patrol and complaints received from the community concerning stores selling alcohol to minors. Sgt. Edward Grim and the officers were able to visit several locations within the precinct using a volunteer under the age of 21. The officers issued tickets to the persons at the locations where proof of age was not asked for or checked by the clerk and/or beer or liquor was sold to an underage person.

Recipients of the tickets are from the following establishments:

Dutch Broadway Farms, Dutch Broadway in Elmont.

Raico Mini Mart, Dutch Broadway in Elmont.

K.P. Food Mart, Meacham Avenue in Elmont.

Turnpike Beverage, Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont.
