Residents of the West Hempstead-Hempstead Gardens Water District can take politics out of our water supply by voting for Jerome Monaco for water commissioner on Dec. 11.

Jerome Monaco has dedicated 35 years to federal service, most recently as assistant area director of the customs service at JFK Airport. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Vice Presidential Award given to individuals who successfully penetrated the bureaucracy.

Mr. Monaco's experience in security and surveillance could provide a very positive asset and his innovative management techniques, for which he received the commissioner's citation as Outstanding Manager of the Year, should prove very useful to the water district.

As a political independent, Mr. Monaco will be committed to superior job performance, not to political affiliation. A vote for Jerome Monaco is a vote to take politics out of the water supply system.

Voting for Water Commissioner of the West Hempstead-Hempstead Gardens Water District will take place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the George Washington Elementary School in West Hempstead and the Washington Street School in Franklin Square.
