Police have arrested a 25-year-old Elmont man in connection with the robbery of the Wendy's located at 199 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont.

According to police, on Friday, Nov. 16, the man allegedly entered the Wendy's at around 11 a.m. and handed an employee a note which stated, "Give me all of the money out of the cash register before I start shooting."

Police said the employee hesitated before the man allegedly displayed what appeared to be a gun in his waistband. The employee then gave the man the cash and he fled the scene on foot.

Police responded a short time later and observed the man counting money on a sidewalk at Fieldmere restaurant, not far from the restaurant. Fifth precinct police officer Bastone, who observed the subject, took him into custody. The note demanding the money along with $245 in cash was found in the subject's pocket.

The Elmont man was charged with Robbery 1st Degree.

According to police, on Nov. 16 at 5 p.m., three men confronted a 16-year-old man as he was walking to the Mobil Gas Station, located at 101 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont.

One of the three men allegedly produced a silver colored knife and stuck it to the left side of the victim's head, according to police. The second man allegedly pushed the victim into the store and went through his pockets, taking the 16-year-old man's cash while the third man waited outside the store.

Police said that when the store clerk yelled, the three subjects fled the scene on foot southbound on Heathcote Road. There were no injuries reported.
