Lillian Glanz, 95, formerly of West Hempstead, died Oct. 24, 2001. She was a teacher in the Massapequa schools for 11 years and she and her husband, Samuel R., were founding members of Nassau Community Temple, West Hempstead. She its first religious school principal and president of the Sisterhood. She was also president of the National Council of Jewish Women, South Shore Section and she started a new branch in Coconut Creek, FL. She was a volunteer to the blind and she helped raise funds to build an Alzheimer's daycare center in Broward County. She later established a music lending library and was a writer for the bulletin at her retirement community. Anthony J. Citera, 69, of Elmont, died on Nov. 6, 2001. A Korean War veteran, he was employed by Taystee Bread. Husband of Marie. Father of Frank, Maria and Toni-Ann. Father-in-law of Joe, Renee and Dave. Grandfather of Kristina, Kevin and Alexandra. Arrangements were made by the Franklin Funeral Home, Franklin Square. Service at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Interment Calverton National Cemetery.
