Alfano Congratulates Elmont LL Champs

Assemblyman Tom Alfano went to Antun's restaurant today where he spoke to Elmont South's Little Champions on their great season. The junior team "Superior" were crowned the champions of their division with an impressive 14-0 season. Alfano spoke to the team during the banquet where players were anxiously awaiting their trophies during the awards presentation.

"These kids really are champions and worked very hard as a team to accomplish this impressive record," said Alfano adding, "They made their parents proud as well as the league."

The team battled leagues from New Hyde Park, Franklin Square, Valley Stream and Garden City South during the season. Elmont South Little League President Debbie LaRosa, joined Alfano in praising the players on their sportsmanship, "The players and coaches did a great job and played very hard to achieve this record and as president I'm very proud of them."

Alfano addressed the well over 300 players and parents gathered to celebrate the success of the season. Trophies and medallions were handed out to winning teams as well as awards. Alfano helped present the awards with LaRosa to some of the players.

Coaches Jimmy Rodriguez, Edgar Feal, Johnny Walker Sr. and Alfano congratulated the junior division team on their 14-0 record. Team players Anthony Rodriguez, Christopher Rodriguez, Johnnie Walker, Sean Silvero, George Santiago, Victor Ruiz, Erol Peralta, Enrique Moya, Alexander McClary, Justin Hamilton, Kevin Goncalves, Juan Espinal and Vincent Edwards posed with Alfano and the coaches before their awards were presented to them.
