Alfano Tours District and Hears Ground Zero Reports
Assemblyman Tom Alfano toured West Hempstead, Elmont and Franklin Square today and was debriefed by firefighters from the three communities on their activities over the past three days. In addition, the assemblyman toured two schools in Elmont and visited the VFW where donations and supplies were being collected by the membership led by Commander Tom Bennet. At each of the stops, Alfano noted that he witnessed such "great generosity of spirit" the community has displayed over the past few days in the aftermath of the World Trade Center terrorist attack.

Children Must Deal With Recent Tragedy
Since Tuesday, Sept. 11, the public has been bombarded with scenes from the disasters at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. It is enough to make even the most optimistic person gloomy and depressed. It is obvious that the tragedy has not only affected every American, but also affected everyone, including the community's children in a different way.

Alfano Congratulates Elmont LL Champs
Assemblyman Tom Alfano went to Antun's restaurant today where he spoke to Elmont South's Little Champions on their great season. The junior team "Superior" were crowned the champions of their division with an impressive 14-0 season. Alfano spoke to the team during the banquet where players were anxiously awaiting their trophies during the awards presentation.
