Here are two exciting and adventurous opportunities to try kayaking on friendly local waters. These river outings have you paddling into wildlife refuges for quick entry into a world of peace and beauty minutes from the congestion of Long Island. Starting in a freshwater ecosystem, you end up in a marine environment near the shoreline. Swans, herons, red-winged blackbirds, turtles, fish of all species, ospreys, hermit crabs, terns and gulls make very good companions. Classroom instruction addresses all the technical elements of the field trip - safety, equipment, personal needs, etc. As certified kayak instructors provide needed support throughout the day, the trips appeal to both veteran and novice kayakers.
