Nori Looks Forward to Serving on Board
Next month, the Elmont Board of Education will welcome a new member. Robert Nori of New Hyde Park will join a board that consists of President Deanna Doreson, Vice President Carl Termini and members Lillian Carillo, Joy Madera, Aubrey Phillips and Ken Williams. Nori was elected to the board last month when he defeated Ed Tupper for the seat of Anne Reinhardt, who decided not to run for re-election.

Floral Park Memorial and H. Frank Carey Achieve Middle States Re-Accreditation
The Middle States Association's Commission on Secondary Schools has announced that Floral Park Memorial High School and H. Frank Carey High School have been re-accredited for the 10-year period ending May 1, 2011. The decision to re-accredit Floral Park Memorial High School and H. Frank Carey High School was made following a three-day visit to the schools in spring 2000 by a visiting team of educators from member schools of the Middle States Association appointed by the Commission on Secondary Education.

Walk for Ronald McDonald House
The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is looking for students to participate in their annual "Business Cares for Kids Sports Festival" 1.5 mile Walk-a-Thon. This is a wonderful way to get children involved in community service, while having a great time. Raffles, prizes, refreshments and entertainment will be provided.
