Resident Receives Pathfinder Award From Town
In recognition of National Women's History Month, the Town of Hempstead honored 11 women who have made a significant difference in their communities. Among the honorees was Franklin Square resident Dee Cornella, who was honored for her volunteer work with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

Franklin Square Library Closed for Renovations
The Franklin Square Public Library will be closed for renovations April 9 to May 7. This closing is necessary so that the old boiler can be removed, extensive electrical and HVAC work can be completed and the other interior renovations, part of the building expansion, can be done.

Elmont Basketball - A Net Gain
The Varsity Boys Basketball Team at Elmont Memorial recently completed a very successful season, bowing out in the Nassau County Division 1A semifinals. The Spartans, coached by Dave Kingsley and Mike Graham, started the year strong and finished with a flourish, defeating a favored Long Beach team to win the Quarter Finals and meeting top-seeded Uniondale in the Semis.
