H. Frank Carey High School's FBLA, the largest club at the school, has been very busy this holiday season. The Future Business Leaders of America's annual Thanksgiving Food Drive had its most successful year ever, involving not only its own members, but also students from other Carey clubs, sports teams, teachers from the various departments, school secretaries as well as the very generous local Franklin Square-area merchants.

Carey's FBLA produced its most successful Thanksgiving Food Drive ever. Various members presided over a ceremony when the baskets were collected and made ready for shipment.

This year, instead of FBLA members collecting and packaging Thanksgiving baskets to be donated to those less fortunate, clubs and teams at Carey prepared their own unique Thanksgiving baskets, each beautifully decorated and containing everything needed for a festive holiday dinner. The baskets also contained gift certificates donated by many local merchants and some even contained dinnerware, paper napkins and decorative platters.

As a result of everyone's effort, Carey High School was able to donate 30 baskets to three charities in the community. "Our Thanksgiving Food Drive was a phenomenal success thanks to the efforts of everyone in the Carey community. Thirty holiday baskets were assembled, providing families less fortunate than ourselves with a holiday feast they will long remember. Congratulations Carey on a job well done," said Dr. Gail Laoria, chairperson of Carey's Business Department.
