The New York Marine Trades Association's 24th Annual Long Island In-Water Boat Show will bring seven days and 400,000 square feet of powerboats, accessories and boating equipment to the Tobay Beach Marina, Sept. 29-Oct. 1 and Oct. 7-9. Seasoned boaters come with their wish list of items they need in a new boat or all of the new things they need to upgrade their current boat.
If you have just been bitten by the boating bug, the Long Island In-Water Boat Show is a unique opportunity to discover the full range of affordable fun that your entire family can enjoy out on the water.
Many of the dealers at the show offer specially priced package deals on sport boats, fishing boats, ski boats, runabout and family cruisers. Such packages often include trailers, outboard motors, safety equipment and other accessories. You can figure on paying about what you'd spend on a second car for a trailerable boat. Larger power boats cost about what you'd expect to pay for a vacation cottage.
Boat shows are the best place to find experts who love to talk about every aspect of boating. Browse through all of the displays and you'll find dealers who can help you select the best boat to suit both your lifestyle and budget. Once you have chosen the right boat, the fun begins, you can customize your new boat with the latest in boating accessories that will be on display at the show.
Show hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. Ticket cost is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and children under the age of 12 are free. Parking is free. The Tobay Beach Marina is located four miles east of the Jones Beach tower on Ocean Parkway. For more information, call New York Marine Trades Association at 631-691-7050 or at www.nymta.com.
