    Franklin Square residents are taking the opportunity to express their support for the new WWII memorial by making contributions to help build a memorial in Washington, D.C. Donators become Charter Members of the WWII Society and can have the name of a loved one placed in the Registry of Remembrances, which will list the names of individual Americans who participated in the war effort.   • SPORTS: Hamlet Cup Tennis Aug. 19-27

    The Hamlet Cup, the final ATP Tour stop before the U.S. Open, announced that its field would increase by 50 percent, from 32 to 48 competitors.
