Asta Lillian Bruckman, of Franklin Square, died on May 30, 2000. She was born Asta Lilli Guth in Freistadt Danzig on Jan. 8, 1914. She fled Europe with her mother and sister and resided in NYC. She was a graduate of Queens College summa cum laude and was a teacher in the Valley Stream/Franklin Square and Garden City School Districts. Wife of the late Morris. Mother of Neal and Hazel Fershleiser. Sister of Helga Kanarek. Grandmother of Christopher, Nicholas and Rachel. Arrangements were made by the I.J. Morris Funeral Home, Hempstead. Constance "Connie" Caiola, 85, formerly of Elmont, died on May 30, 2000. She was recording secretary for the Elmont Senior Citizen's Assciation, a Sunshine Lady with the Elmont "A" Street Senior Citizens and a member of St. Vincent de Paul RC Church. She worked at Meadowbrook National Bank as a communications supervisor for 23 years. Mother of Kenneth (Kathleen) and Lorraine (John) Snevel. Grandmother of seven. Sister of Amanda Bermingham of Elmont and William Garcia of Sound Beach, NY. Contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
