The tulips and daffodils are in bloom; the daylight hours are longer. The children of Elmont's public schools invite residents to take time out from planting their gardens to come to the schools' spring concerts.

The six elementary schools will each present a program of choral and instrumental music, and several schools will hold both day and evening events. The concert schedule is as follows:

Alden Terrace School, May 9, 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Dutch Broadway School, May 15, 9:30 a.m. and May 16, 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Gotham Avenue School, May 16, 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Covert Avenue School, May 16, 7:30 p.m.

Stewart Manor School, May 16, 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Clara H.Carlson School, May 22, 9:30 a.m., and May 23, 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
