On Sunday, April 30, The March of Dimes WalkAmerica 2000 will take place at five sites across Long Island. Locally, walkers will be gathering at Eisenhower Park (parking field 6A), East Meadow and the Boardwalk at Riverside Boulevard, Long Beach.
The March of Dimes has an impressive track record of improving the lives of millions of children, and I am proud to serve again, as the Nassau County chairman for this year's event. WalkAmerica supports March of Dimes programs for research, education, advocacy and community services that give every baby the best chance for a healthy start in life.
I hope that you will join me on April 30 and help support the March of Dimes WalkAmerica 2000. The March of Dimes WalkAmerica is expecting 10,000 Long Island walkers and volunteers to participate and I hope to see you there. Even if you are unable to participate, please come down and support our walkers and enjoy this exciting family event.
If you would like to register in advance or would like more information, please call the Long Island March of Dimes at 496-2100, or 1-800-BIG-WALK, and tell them you want to be a part of WalkAmerica.
