Nassau County Legislator John J. Ciotti and the Nassau County Legislature annually honor women throughout Nassau for their many outstanding and unique accomplishments and contributions to the community. This year Legislator Ciotti chose to honor Cheryl E. Lee.

Cheryl E. Lee, a long time resident of Elmont, a mother, and dedicated community worker, was honored for her success and ability to combine her responsibilities at home with her volunteer services to the community.
"Cheryl's involvement as president of the Parkhurst Civic Association and her work with the Elmont Community Coalition Council as former vice president as well as her work as a former instructor at the Wayside School For Girls is indicative of her diligence to achieve a safer and healthier community made her a perfect choice to receive this year's award," said Legislator Ciotti.
