Candidate Bradley Speaks at Adelphi
Steve Eisenberg, president of Adelphi University, is very well connected politically. Less than two weeks ago his guest speaker was Hillary Rodham Clinton, with whom he had attended Yale Law School. This Tuesday, before introducing former Senator Bill Bradley to a crowd of students, faculty and guests, he revealed that they had attended Oxford University together, more than 30 years ago.

It'll Be November
In what is considered the final legal step of the 12-year lawsuit against the Town of Hempstead claiming the at-large voting system was racially discriminatory, United States District Court Judge John Gleeson, ordered a special election to take place on November 7, 2000, to implement councilmanic districts mandated by the district court, a decision upheld by the Supreme Court last month.

Karate Kick-A-Thon Benefits Needy At St. Judes Children's Hospital
Students at the Long Island Shotokan Karate Dojo in West Hempstead participated in a kick-a-thon recently and exceeded their goal of raising $5500 for children at St. Judes Children's Hospital. Owners Charles Macolino, Gerard DiCanio and Walter Garcia led and inspired their students in the fundraiser that collected money from their sponsors.
