Sudhi Trye, a student of Elmont Memorial High School, was recently named the first-place winner of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest held by the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. Sudhi was selected the first-place winner in the 13-to-15 age group for this competition. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest was open to all the children of employees of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System.
Sudhi and his parents were invited to attend a reception in the CECR Auditorium to receive an award for his accomplishment. In addition, Sudhi has been invited to return for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Service which will be held on Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, in the Rust Auditorium of the North Shore University Hospital.
