Alfano, MADD and SADD Team on Anti-Drunk Driving Measures
In a press conference recently at H. Frank Carey High School, in Franklin Square, Assemblyman Tom Alfano, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD), Nassau County Superior Officers Association, board of education members and civic leaders rallied for the Hit, Run and Hide Prevention Act. Alfano, MADD and SADD are teaming together on this measure and other MADD legislative priorities.

Elmont Student Awarded First Place in Essay Contest
Sudhi Trye, a student of Elmont Memorial High School, was recently named the first-place winner of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest held by the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. Sudhi was selected the first-place winner in the 13-to-15 age group for this competition. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest was open to all the children of employees of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System.

Carey Sports News
The Carey junior high football team improved its record to two wins and no losses. The offense was led by outstanding running by Jimmy Feaster along with strong running by Tom Daddino. Great defense was played by T.J. Lopez, Tom Daddino and Jimmy Feaster. The Seahawk's won by a score of 34 to 12.
